We hope to continue to bring interesting speakers and topics, and to continue to build the network to include more areas in the green and sustainable sectors. This month’s topic will be Nature Deficit, with guest Carolyn Walker of the Woodland Discovery Program. Thru nature-based play, Woodland Discovery Program is working to provide solutions and experiences which will enhance the natural cognitive & social development of area children, while also offering a connection with the natural world which will last a lifetime. Come find out how the mission of Woodland Discovery supports green business, and how companies and organizations can address nature deficit and its impact on future workers. Green Drinks Lake Norman is back again this month on Thursday, June 30th, in the Campania Café. We hope to continue to bring interesting speakers and topics, and to continue to build the network to include more areas in the green and sustainable sectors. This month’s topic will be the Green Innovators – 5 Ventures Student Competition Winner! This month’s speaker is Terence Goveas. Terence is a green energy professional with over five years experience in the industry as an engineer and consultant. As a graduate student at UNC Charlotte, he is currently working on efficiency improvements of solar cells. He has been involved in several green and sustainability projects from solar systems design to rain water harvesting. He will share his experience and insights on the 5 Ventures experience, innovation and competing in the region’s energy economy. For potential new members, Green Drinks is an informal networking social that seeks to connect environmentally minded people in a casual drink setting. Green Drinks Lake Norman is a continuously evolving networking event that is held on the last Thursday of every month. We invite anyone working or interested in renewable energy, the environmental field, or green and clean tech. Everyone is encouraged to invite someone else along so that we continue to grow and bring fresh ideas and perspectives to each event.
